As a woman with a large chest I’ve always had a hard time finding sports bras that fit right. After having my son and breastfeeding this became even more challenging, (Hello gravity.) I always found that I would need to size down just so I could kind of crush them into place, but then the straps would leave these terrible marks on my shoulders that would hurt so much. I’ve always hated wearing normal bras and typically wear sports bras most days, even when I’m not exercising. I’m all about comfort.
I have tried so many different brands, different sizes, different styles. Finally I have found some of my favorites. I’ve made a list of my top 5 favorites, rating them on comfort and support. Unfortunately, one of my go to staples is no longer available so I did not put it on this list. I feel like anyone with a bigger chest can really understand the struggle of finding work out clothes that fit because I know I did for years.
My hope is that this list may make your life a little easier when trying to shop. For reference, I am a 36DDD. I have listed the sizes that I buy.
Womens Solstice Bra $55 Size L Comfort: 8/10 Support: 8/10 Best Uses: Weight lifting, every day wearing, running, cycling Would not recommend for: Plyometrics. The only complaint I have about this bra as a large chested female is that since it is a lower cut, when jumping and doing things like burpees, the girls tend to want to escape out the top.
Like A Cloud Bra Light support $58 This says B/C Cup but I just get a size 12 and it fits great
Comfort: 10/10
Support: 5/10
Best Uses: Yoga, Everyday wearing, Pilates, walking. I just absolutely love this bra. it’s so comfortable for just every day lounging around. Definitely not the greatest exercise bra though.
Would not recommend for: any sort of cardio, plyometrics.
I hope that this can help some of you!
